Confederacy Research Workshop

The Oklahoma Division United Daughters of the Confederacy® and the Chickasaw Chapter, UDC, of Ardmore will host a confederacy research workshop on Saturday, August 7, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Greater Southwest Historical Museum 35 Sunset Drive, Ardmore.

The workshop on researching your confederate ancestor will be presented by Kathy Huber. Huber is the genealogy librarian for the Tulsa City-County Library and a member of UDC.

Membership in the United Daughters of the Confederacy® is open to women at least 16 years of age who can trace their ancestry back to men and women who served honorably in the Army, Navy or Civil Service of the Confederate States of America or gave material aid to the cause.

Ruth Faulkner, Treasurer General, UDC, as well as Division officers will be present to answer question, share information on eligibility, and instructions for preparing lineage papers.

Men interested in the Sons of the Confederacy are invited to attend as Commander James Catron of Brigadier General Stand Watie Camp #149, Ardmore, will be available for questions.
